Ceiling drips with no rain
2020 travel trailer, aluminum-framed roof and walls. 30A shore, lived in full time, nights in the low 20s
Customer says: Water drips from the ceiling in lines, and the back of the bedroom closet is wet. It hasn't rained in two weeks.
Windows fogged on the inside. A towel on the bed under the drips.
Tests you can run
- Ask how they live in it and heat it
- Hygrometer in the living area
- Infrared on the ceiling: between the framing, then on the drip lines
- Look at where the water forms
- Moisture meter on and between the drip lines
- Climb up first thing and check the roof
- Once it's thawed and dry, with fall protection on, look over the roof
- Afternoon above freezing, fall protection on: water test the roof over the worst drip lines, meter on the ceiling between them
- Reseal the roof seams and vents
