One hydraulic jack never goes down
2019 class A gas motorhome, hydraulic leveling with four jacks and a solenoid valve for each jack on the pump manifold. Ignition on, park brake set, 50A shore
Customer says: When I level, three jacks go down. The left front never moves and the pump just keeps running.
The panel shows the left front jack still up. The other three are down.
Tests you can run
- Fluid level with all jacks up
- Look at the hoses, fittings and the left front jack
- Jacks up and pump off, gauge on the pump test port, then call the left front down
- Volts at the left front valve coil connector while it's called
- Ohms across each valve coil, connectors off
- Hold a screwdriver tip to each coil while a helper calls it, clear of the jacks
- Jacks all up, pump off: swap the left front and right front coils on their valve stems, then call each jack
- Crack the pump's pressure line at the manifold while it runs, to see if it's pushing fluid
- Replace the pump
