Recall 08V279000 (25/06/2008): EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER
COACHMEN IS RECALLING 37,293 MOTORHOMES AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION. THE REFRIGERATOR MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.
Fix: COACHMEN IS WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 08E032). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST THE OWNER IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS. 04/15/2019, STRUCTURE: THE FIBERGLASS CAP ON THE REAR OF THE RV CAME LOOSE WHILE DRIVING AND NEARLY FELL OFF. THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF DAMAGE TO THE FIBERGLASS PIECE AND IT WILL BE VERY COSTLY TO REPAIR. IT IS DANGEROUS AND THE RV CANNOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL IT IS FIXED. I'M TRYING TO DETERMINE IF THIS HAPPENS OFTEN AND THERE IS A RECALL OR SOME SORT OF HELP FROM THE MANUFACTURER OR IF I AM STUCK WITH THE REPAIR BILL ($6-8K ESTIMATE)ON MY OW
