What a tech checks: Regulator, lines and fittings, then the appliances: furnace, water heater, range. A proper pressure-drop leak test is the first thing a tech does on an LP complaint. Before you buy: Smell for gas with the tank open; have a shop do the leak test.

Tires: 2 complaints
What a tech checks: Age, load range and pressure. RV tires age out before they wear out, and an underrated tire on a heavy trailer is a blowout waiting to happen. Before you buy: Read the DOT date and the load range on the sidewall.

What owners reported to NHTSA
11/18/2022, TIRES: Lionshead castle rock ST225/75 R15 passenger side front tandem axle tire blew on our 2021 forest rive east to west alta travel trailer while traveling in the middle lane on interstate 95 in Florida, 45 minutes into our trip. We have only put approximately 3,700 miles on these tires. There was nothing in the road, all proper maintenance has been conducted including tire checks and with proper air pressure maintenance
07/02/2021, TIRES: We bought this camper brand new on June 18 2021. Two of the four tires already have defects. One has an egg forming in the sidewall and the other has deformations forming in the tread/sidewall. The tires have less than 1000 miles on them since purchase.
