Recall 17V838000 (21/12/2017): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Cascade and Cherokee recreational trailers. The trailer wiring may have been improperly routed, allowing the wires to be pinched between the chassis and the vehicle body.
Fix: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the trailers, rerouting the wires, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on February 7, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-541-644-8072. Forest River's number for this recall is 64-0456.
What a tech checks: Voltage drop, grounds, the converter and the transfer switch. Melted shore-cord plugs and bad grounds cause most of the electrical complaints techs actually see. Before you buy: Battery at rest, converter output on shore power, GFCI test, every outlet.

03/24/2023, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: The contact owns a 2016 Forest River Cascade. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights became inoperable. The contact also stated that the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated.
