Fix: Dealers will replace the fabric roll or complete awning, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 17, 2022. Recall 22V041000 (28/01/2022): TIRES
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2022 Vengeance Fifth Wheel trailers. The tire pressure label may indicate incorrect tire pressure information for the front tires. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 120, "Wheels and Rims-Other Than Passenger Cars" and 567, "Certification."
Fix: Forest River will mail replacement labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 8, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 81-1462.
What a tech checks: Age, load range and pressure. RV tires age out before they wear out, and an underrated tire on a heavy trailer is a blowout waiting to happen. Before you buy: Read the DOT date and the load range on the sidewall.

Recall 22V135000 (08/03/2022): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2022 Coachmen Catalina, Aurora, Apex, Freedom Express, Spirit, Work N Play, Forest River XLR Toy Hauler, Vengeance, Sabre, Cherokee, and Cardinal travel trailers and fifth wheels. The wire cord that connects to the back of the 50AMP shore power inlet may be loose.
Fix: Dealers will replace the shore cord inlet, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 5, 2022. What a tech checks: Voltage drop, grounds, the converter and the transfer switch. Melted shore-cord plugs and bad grounds cause most of the electrical complaints techs actually see. Before you buy: Battery at rest, converter output on shore power, GFCI test, every outlet.

(Forest River) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Coachmen Adrenaline, Apex, Catalina, Freedom Express, Spirit, East to West Alta, Della Terra, Silver Lake, Forest River Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Columbus, Flagstaff, Impression, Ozark, Rockwood, Sabre, Salem, Sandstorm, Shockwave, Stealth, Stealth Evo, Vengeance, Vibe, Wildwood, XLR Toyhauler, Palomino Puma, Prime Time Avenger, Crusader, Lacrosse, Sanibel, Shasta Oasis, 2022 Coachmen Cross Trail, Prism, Forest River Aurora, Rainier, Wildcat, Work and Play, Prime Time Tracer, 2021-2023 Coachmen Leprechaun, and 2022-2023 Coachmen Freelander fifth wheel and travel trailer recreational vehicles. The quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas system may be cracked, causing a gas leak.
Fix: Dealers will replace the quick disconnect and perform a LP system check, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 20, 2022. Owners may contact the applicable customer service number for their vehicle model. Please see the recall report for the list of phone numbers.
What a tech checks: Regulator, lines and fittings, then the appliances: furnace, water heater, range. A proper pressure-drop leak test is the first thing a tech does on an LP complaint. Before you buy: Smell for gas with the tank open; have a shop do the leak test.

Axles, brakes, suspension and hitch: 1 complaint
What a tech checks: Bearings, brake magnets, worn shackle bolts and bent axles. A trailer that wears tires on the inside edge or pulls to one side usually has an axle or suspension problem. Before you buy: Bolts tight, springs not flat, brakes apply with the breakaway pin pulled.

08/17/2023, WHEELS: On 8/4/23 driving across Louisiana when another driver motioned for me to pull over. Upon investigation found that had the rear passenger side tire was missing. All studs were sheared and the tire and wheel was gone and never found. Had to replace the hub and put spare onto trailer to complete trip home. 07/09/2024, EQUIPMENT: The contact owns a 2022 Forest River Vengeance RV. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the electric awning detached from the RV. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that both ends of the welded seams had detached from the electric awning. The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired.
