Fix: Dealers will replace the axle attachment components, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2026. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910054. This recall supersedes NHTSA Recalls 23V490 and 24V193.

Refrigerators: 1 recall
Recall 22V038000 (28/01/2022): EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:REFRIGERATOR
Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2013-2021 Momentum, Solitude, and Reflection recreational vehicles. A 110-volt wire in the refrigerator cabinet may be improperly secured, which could result in the wire contacting the refrigerator cooling unit, causing an electrical arc.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace any damaged wiring, and properly secure the wires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 21, 2022. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910026.
What a tech checks: On absorption fridges the big failure is the cooling unit leaking ammonia (yellow residue, a sharp smell) and boards or igniters on the gas side. Compressor fridges fail on the 12 V supply more than the compressor. Before you buy: Look at the back through the outside vent for yellow powder; run it on both power sources.

LP gas and gas appliances: 1 recall
Recall 21V393000 (26/05/2021): EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER:LPG SYSTEMS
Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2016-2021 Imagine, Transcend, and Momentum travel trailers. The LP regulator that controls the LP gas pressure may fail, allowing excessive gas pressure that causes the appliance flame to increase.
Fix: Dealers will replace the LP regulator, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 24, 2021. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910023.
What a tech checks: Regulator, lines and fittings, then the appliances: furnace, water heater, range. A proper pressure-drop leak test is the first thing a tech does on an LP complaint. Before you buy: Smell for gas with the tank open; have a shop do the leak test.

Motorhome chassis: 1 complaint
What a tech checks: The chassis (Ford, Freightliner, Mercedes, Ram) is serviced by the chassis maker's dealer, not the RV shop. RV techs handle the house, not the drivetrain. Before you buy: Chassis recalls are fixed free at the chassis maker's dealer.
12 volt and 120 volt electrical: 1 complaint
What a tech checks: Voltage drop, grounds, the converter and the transfer switch. Melted shore-cord plugs and bad grounds cause most of the electrical complaints techs actually see. Before you buy: Battery at rest, converter output on shore power, GFCI test, every outlet.

What owners reported to NHTSA
12/30/2024, STRUCTURE: I am experiencing major frame failure. My propane doors on both sides have opened while towing. Gotten so bad i had to duct tape them shut. Not safe pulling over to do this. The main cause of this happening is Frame Flexing which i can confirm with a video i took. I can also see my frame flexing while hitching and unhitching trailer. My top floors are squeaking badly which is indicative to my frame bending and breaki
12/29/2024, STRUCTURE: I own a 2021 Grand Design Momentum 381m. In august of this year we found broken welds and bolts in our RV frame. The dealer we took it to told us grand design has known about the issue for several years but refuses to issue a recall, instead they issued a service bulletin. GD told us on the phone, there have been no catastrophic failures yet, so there is no need for a recall. Blue Compass RV in Prescott, AZ, at the d
11/30/2024, UNKNOWN OR OTHER: Due to excessive frame flex, multiple welds have broken and the trailer walls are coming apart from the main frame. Vehicle is currently in for repair, but if the hitch had broken while towing, or if the walls had completely separated while towing, the result would have been a serious, and potentially fatal, accident.
11/25/2024, SUSPENSION,UNKNOWN OR OTHER: The frame and suspension on our 2021 Grand Design is failing. The frame on the upper deck has broken welds and there is visible movement in the upper deck when hitching and unhitching. The furniture inside the main bedroom move when hitching and unhitching. The side walls have started to detach from the frame as evidenced by screws backing out or breaking. The suspension has bent components. The frame is also be
11/24/2023, STRUCTURE: This trailer has frame flex in the gooseneck area to the point it is damaging the cabinetry in the front of the trailer. I have been in multiple momentum trailers with this problem and the dealership just wants me to trade it in or charge an astronomical amount of money to try and fix. It’s a known problem that everyone needs to be aware of.
11/17/2025, STRUCTURE: The contact owns a 2021 Grand Design Momentum RV. The contact stated that while inspecting the RV, the contact became aware that the outrigger brackets were bent and fractured.
