Recall 23V490000 (17/07/2023): SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY:U-BOLT, LEAF SPRING TO AXLE
Grand Design RV, LLC. (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Momentum and Solitude fifth wheels, equipped with certain CURT 7000 and 8000 lb axles. The U-bolts may have been improperly tightened, which can cause the axle to move out of position.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and tighten the U-bolts, as necessary. Any damaged components will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 16, 2023. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910039.
Recall 24V193000 (12/03/2024): SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY:U-BOLT, LEAF SPRING TO AXLE
Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2024 Solitude and Momentum Fifth Wheel trailers. The U-bolts may have been improperly tightened, which can cause the axle to move out of position.
Fix: Dealers will replace the U-bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 25, 2024. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910042.
Recall 26V044000 (26/01/2026): SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY:U-BOLT, LEAF SPRING TO AXLE
Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Momentum and 2022-2024 Solitude Fifth Wheel trailers. The U-bolt may become loose due to inadequate preload and preload losses, causing the axle to move out of position.
Fix: Dealers will replace the axle attachment components, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2026. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910054. This recall supersedes NHTSA Recalls 23V490 and 24V193.
What a tech checks: Bearings, brake magnets, worn shackle bolts and bent axles. A trailer that wears tires on the inside edge or pulls to one side usually has an axle or suspension problem. Before you buy: Bolts tight, springs not flat, brakes apply with the breakaway pin pulled.

Recall 25V061000 (07/02/2025): EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER:MATERIALS:FLOORING
Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Grand Design Solitude fifth wheel trailers. The step tread joints may be unsupported, causing the tread to break.
Fix: Dealers will reinforce the current step tread with a metal bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2025. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910048.
What a tech checks: Roof sealant, seams, window and slide seals, and the frame. Water intrusion shows up as delamination, soft floors and stained ceilings months after the leak started. Before you buy: Press the sidewalls and walk the floor; look at every seam and seal.

Doors, windows, steps and lights: 1 complaint
What a tech checks: Mostly adjustments and wear: steps that stop halfway on a bad switch, doors out of alignment after a slide shifted, exterior lights with a corroded ground. Before you buy: Every door, lock, window and light.
12 volt and 120 volt electrical: 1 complaint
What a tech checks: Voltage drop, grounds, the converter and the transfer switch. Melted shore-cord plugs and bad grounds cause most of the electrical complaints techs actually see. Before you buy: Battery at rest, converter output on shore power, GFCI test, every outlet.

12/18/2025, STRUCTURE: The contact owns a 2024 Grand Design Solitude. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the side wall frame was flexing and cracking. In addition, the cargo doors independently unlatched due to the failure. The RV was taken to an independent shop, where it was diagnosed with fractured side walls. In addition, the contact was informed that the side walls had detached from the frame of the RV. The
11/07/2024, STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER: Having symptoms of frame failure, excessive king pin movement when hooking and unhooking the trailer from the tow vehicle. My main concern is a complete failure of the frame allowing the trailer to separate from the tow vehicle while traveling down the road and endangering my family as well as other motorist.
07/16/2026, STRUCTURE: A crack was found in the frame above the left rear suspension spring hanger for the rear (2nd) axle on my 2024 Grand Design Influence 3803GK 5th wheel RV. This is an ongoing issue with Grand Design and other towable RV Manufacturers, investigation number PE24029. 07/13/2025, UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES: The entry door came open while driving down the road. Both the standard lock and the dead bolt were locked. We had to stop at least 5 times during the travel day to close the door. After each stop we double checked the door to make sure that it was locked.
05/10/2025, SUSPENSION,WHEELS: Made it 451 miles in our brand new Grand Design Solitude 380FL and noticed it looked crooked and smoke started coming from the drivers side while going 70 mph down I24 in TN. Pulled over and had a torn tire on both sides, axle was coming off due to missing a U bolt and the leaf spring had come apart.
