2021 Jayco Redhawk problems: recalls, complaints and what to check

Recall 22V290000 (03/05/2022): STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Jayco Greyhawk, Greyhawk Prestige, Redhawk, Entegra Esteem, and Odyssey recreational vehicles. An inadequate connection between the power steering pressure line and the brake Hydroboost unit may result in a sudden loss of power steering fluid.
Fix: Dealers will inspect the connection between the power steering lines and the Hydroboost unit, and replace the power steering lines, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 15, 2022. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 22V-089.
Recall 24V245000 (02/04/2024): STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Entegra Esteem, Odyssey, and Jayco Greyhawk, Redhawk, and Greyhawk Prestige motorhomes. An inadequate connection between the power steering pressure line and the brake hydroboost unit may result in a sudden loss of power steering fluid.
Fix: Dealers will replace the power steering pressure line and the hydro boost jumper line, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 22, 2024. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267.
What a tech checks: The chassis (Ford, Freightliner, Mercedes, Ram) is serviced by the chassis maker's dealer, not the RV shop. RV techs handle the house, not the drivetrain. Before you buy: Chassis recalls are fixed free at the chassis maker's dealer.

Recall 20V780000 (15/12/2020): EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Greyhawk, Greyhawk Pestige, Redhawk, Redhawk SE, Odyssey, and Esteem motorhomes. The mounting brackets for the leveling system hydraulic pump and reservoir may fail, allowing the components to contact the ground.
Fix: Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will install a new support bracket, free of charge. The recall began February 3, 2021. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9903528.
Axles, brakes, suspension and hitch: 2 complaints
What a tech checks: Bearings, brake magnets, worn shackle bolts and bent axles. A trailer that wears tires on the inside edge or pulls to one side usually has an axle or suspension problem. Before you buy: Bolts tight, springs not flat, brakes apply with the breakaway pin pulled.

Structure, roof and leaks: 1 complaint
What a tech checks: Roof sealant, seams, window and slide seals, and the frame. Water intrusion shows up as delamination, soft floors and stained ceilings months after the leak started. Before you buy: Press the sidewalls and walk the floor; look at every seam and seal.

11/18/2022, STEERING,ENGINE: Ford will not address two active recalls for our vehicle and we have been attempting to get the recalls addressed without success.
11/03/2022, STRUCTURE: The contact owns a 2021 Jayco Redhawk RV. The contact stated that after the RV was purchased, he heard a loud squeaky sound coming from the rear door. There were no warning lights illuminated. 06/15/2022, STEERING,SUSPENSION,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: I just pickup my 2021 Jayco Blackhawk 31f last friday, June 10, 2022, at 4 pm. I drove home for 35 mile from Johnson Rv in Gilroy. On the way home, I has lost control of the car by wobbling around the freeway by run over a tiny bump. I call the RV Dealership the same day, but they already closed. 04/10/2022, STEERING,ENGINE: We received the two recall notice letters from Ford Motor Company, 20V795 & 22V089, for our 2021 Jayco Redhawk class C RV. 02/18/2022, STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES: I was driving slowly looking for an open gas station on a highwsy in Va. i attempted to make a left hand turn when i heard a snapping sound.
