12 volt and 120 volt electrical: 1 recall, 1 complaint

Recall 20V398000 (07/07/2020): EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Keystone Carbon, Cougar, Fuzion, Impact and Raptor fifth-wheel trailers equipped with a Furrion over the air (OTA) wing-style television antenna. The antenna may separate from the mounting base during transit, becoming a road hazard.

Fix: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the Furrion wing-style antenna with a Winegard dome-style antenna, free of charge. The recall began August 27, 2020. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 20-381.

What a tech checks: Voltage drop, grounds, the converter and the transfer switch. Melted shore-cord plugs and bad grounds cause most of the electrical complaints techs actually see. Before you buy: Battery at rest, converter output on shore power, GFCI test, every outlet.

Tires: 1 recall

Recall 18V790000 (09/11/2018): TIRES

Keystone RV (Keystone) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Keystone Raptor recreational trailers, model 353TS. The tires may rub against the frame outrigger while being towed.

Fix: Keystone has notified owners, and dealers will cut a notch into the frame outrigger that will provide clearance between the frame and tire, free of charge. The recall began November 20, 2018. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 18-339.

What a tech checks: Age, load range and pressure. RV tires age out before they wear out, and an underrated tire on a heavy trailer is a blowout waiting to happen. Before you buy: Read the DOT date and the load range on the sidewall.

Fix: Keystone has notified owners, and dealers will replace the quick disconnect rubber propane line with a line that must be disconnected prior to storing the grill, free of charge. The recall began on January 14, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 19-343.

What a tech checks: Regulator, lines and fittings, then the appliances: furnace, water heater, range. A proper pressure-drop leak test is the first thing a tech does on an LP complaint. Before you buy: Smell for gas with the tank open; have a shop do the leak test.
