Recall 12V559000 (03/12/2012): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Winnebago is recalling certain model year 2009-2013 model Era motorhomes, 2010-2013 Via and Itasca Reyo motorhomes, and 2011-2013 View and Itasca Navion motorhomes; manufactured November 13, 2007, through August 20, 2012. The proper fuses were not installed for the refrigerator circuits.
Fix: Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuses. The recall began on December 21, 2012. Consumers may contact Winnebago Industries owner relations at 1-641-585-6939.
What a tech checks: Voltage drop, grounds, the converter and the transfer switch. Melted shore-cord plugs and bad grounds cause most of the electrical complaints techs actually see. Before you buy: Battery at rest, converter output on shore power, GFCI test, every outlet.

Recall 10V470000 (05/10/2010): SEAT BELTS
WINNEBAGO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 THROUGH 2011 WINNEBAGO VIEW AND ITASCA NAVION MOTOR HOMES BECAUSE THE DINETTE AREA SEAT BELT RESTRAINTS ON THOSE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES." IN A COLLISION, THE GENERATED CRASH FORCES CAN CAUSE THE RESTRAINT'S ATTACHMENT TO TEAR AND ALLOW THE ANCHOR TO SEPARATE FROM THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE.
Fix: WINNEBAGO WILL ADD ADDITIONAL SEAT BELT ANCHORAGES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 12, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WINNEBAGO AT 1-800-537-1885.
What a tech checks: Mostly adjustments and wear: steps that stop halfway on a bad switch, doors out of alignment after a slide shifted, exterior lights with a corroded ground. Before you buy: Every door, lock, window and light.
Other: 1 complaint
Motorhome chassis: 1 complaint
What a tech checks: The chassis (Ford, Freightliner, Mercedes, Ram) is serviced by the chassis maker's dealer, not the RV shop. RV techs handle the house, not the drivetrain. Before you buy: Chassis recalls are fixed free at the chassis maker's dealer.
