Power step stays out
2017 class C, power entry step. Engine off, coach battery good
Customer says: The step won't go in when we close the door. We almost drove off with it out.
Tests you can run
- 12V and ground at the step controller
- Door switch continuity with the door closed, then open
- Look at the door switch and the magnet on the door
- Hold a magnet against the door switch with the door open
- Power the step motor directly
- Check the linkage for binding
- Replace the step controller
