Trailer brakes dragging hot
2018 travel trailer, electric brakes, breakaway switch with its own battery. Just unhooked after a 60 mile drive
Customer says: We smelled hot brakes when we got to the campground. The wheels are really hot.
Tests you can run
- Infrared on all four hubs
- Look at the breakaway switch and its pin
- Brake wire at the trailer's 7-way plug, unplugged from the truck
- Push the pin all the way in and read the brake wire again
- Check the truck's brake controller
- Jack up each wheel onto a stand, spin it and check for play
- Back off all the brake adjustments
