Water pump kicks on by itself
2016 travel trailer, 6 gal water heater. On the fresh tank, pump switch on
Customer says: Every few minutes the pump runs for a few seconds with nothing turned on. We don't see any puddles.
Tests you can run
- Check faucets, toilet, shower and outside shower for drips
- Put a pressure gauge on a faucet and watch it
- Close the shutoff right at the pump outlet, watch the gauge at the pump
- Bypass the water heater and watch the gauge
- Check the water heater drain plug and the area around it
- Check where the pump shuts off
