Norcold 1200 series fridge fault codes
These code meanings are for the Norcold 1200 series absorption fridges. Other series (older N6, N8 and others, and compressor models) can differ. Read the model label first.
Norcold fridge code no co
No cooling detected. The fridge is on but not getting cold. Check level, vents, heat source (LP and 120V), then run the full-run test. A cooling unit that failed gives this code.
Norcold fridge code no FL
Burner did not ignite or re-ignite. LP valve open, tank has gas, burner tube clean, electrode gap and spark, 12V good, regulator pressure. Check for a blocked flue.
Norcold fridge code no AC
No 120V AC available. Check the shore or inverter, breaker, GFCI, cord, and the 120V plug at the fridge.
Norcold fridge code AC LO
120V is too low. Measure at the fridge under load. Fix the supply: pedestal, long cord, inverter or loose connection.
Norcold fridge code dc LO
12V control voltage too low. Charge or replace the battery. Check voltage drop on the supply wire and ground. Needs about 10.5 V or more.
Norcold fridge code dr
Door open more than 2 minutes. Close the door. Check the door switch and the latch.
Norcold fridge: No display
No 12V control power, or the fridge is off. Check the fridge fuse, 12V at the board, and the control panel connector. Turn the fridge on.
Norcold fridge: Flashing temperature
Backup Operating System (BOS) is active. The main control failed and the fridge is on a basic backup. Service the control board.
Norcold fridge code AC rE
Internal control fault. Cycle 12V power. If it returns, replace the control board.
Norcold fridge code AC HE
Internal control fault. Cycle 12V power. If it returns, replace the control board.
Norcold fridge code Sr
Internal control fault. Cycle 12V power. If it returns, replace the control board.
Norcold fridge code AC HI
120V above 132V. Meter the outlet. Park voltage or an open neutral on a 50A coach.
Norcold fridge code Lo dc
12V below 10.5V at the power board (alarm below 8.5V). Check voltage at the board under load, then the fuse, connections and ground.
Norcold fridge code dc HI
12V above 15.4V. Converter or charger over-volting. Check the charger output.
Norcold fridge code dc rE
DC heater relay stuck closed (3-way). Power board.
Norcold fridge code dc HE
DC heater current too low (3-way). Ohm the DC element and its wiring.
Norcold fridge code no dt
Display lost communication with the power board. Check the ribbon cable at both ends, then the display, then the board.
Norcold fridge code L1 oP
High temperature limit switch open or unplugged. The limit switch on the boiler housing (part of the recall kit on many units) opened or its plug is off. Reseat, check for a boiler overheat, replace the switch.
Norcold fridge code FL --
Flame sensed when there should be none. Gas valve stuck open. Shut the LP off at the valve. Replace the valve.
Norcold fridge: ON and CHECK both flashing
No energy source: no 120V and the burner did not light. Check 120V at the fridge outlet and the 8A fuse on the board, then LP: bleed the line, prove pressure. Switch OFF then back to AUTO to retry.
Norcold fridge: Check lamp on
Ignition failure, gas lockout. Burner, electrode gap, LP pressure, 12V at the board. Reset with the switch.
Norcold fridge: ON lamp blinks off 3 times every 3 s
AC heater open. Ohm the element; replace it.
Norcold fridge: ON lamp blinks off 5 times
No cooling detected. Level, then the cooling unit checks: boiler temperature, yellow stain, ammonia smell.

Codes come from the maker manuals and public service sheets. Your model's own chart always wins, and LP and 120 volt work belongs to a qualified technician.
