In-wall slide 3D wiring model
Schwintek / Lippert
A Schwintek in-wall slide is two motors riding vertical gear rails on the side wall, driven together by a controller. They must stay in sync.
Parts in this model
- Slide fuse: The slide feed. A weak battery is the most common cause of a dead slide.
- Room switch: In/out switch. Hold it to move the room.
- Motor left
- Motor right
The sequence
- At rest. Both motors are parked and the controller holds the room.
- Extend. The controller drives both rail motors together. They must stay in sync or the room racks.
- Full out. Both motors hit full travel. Hold the switch 3 to 5 s past the stop to re-sync.
- Retract. Both motors reverse together and pull the room back in. The controller keeps them in sync the whole way.
Faults you can find with the meter
- Slide fuse blown
- One side dead
- Out of sync
- Stripped gear
- Low voltage at the controller (8.4 V)
- Switch open
