Fridge: dometic

Which Dometic is it?

The E-codes below are for the RM1350 series (4-door Elite style, including RM1350SL). Other Dometic models use different codes or indicator lights. Match the model label first.

Codes (RM1350 series)

E0|Display not talking to the power module|Check the display cable and plug, and 12V at the module. Reseat connectors. Replace the display or module if it persists.

E1|LP operation hardware fault|The LP system has a fault. See if AC mode still works. Service the LP gas valve, ignition or control. Do not skip safety checks.

E2|Temperature sensor or its circuit|Check the sensor plug and wiring. Measure the sensor ohms. Replace if open or shorted.

E3|Cooling unit malfunction|This is not the LP ignition code. Check heat on both LP and AC, ventilation and level. Run the full-run test. May need a cooling unit.

E4|DC voltage out of range|Check the battery, charger or converter, and voltage drop on the 12V supply to the fridge.

Flashing LP|LP ignition did not finish|After a tank change or long storage, turn the fridge off and on at the front. Bleed air from the line. If it returns, check gas pressure, burner, electrode and sensor.

No code, no cooling

AUTO or LP selected? Thermostat setting (1 is warmest, 5 is coldest on this model)? Level? Door seal? Frost on the fins? Food blocking airflow? Do these first.

Common Dometic failures

Cooling unit failure on older absorption units. Control board and display faults. Dirty burner and flame sensor. Thermistor faults. Low 12V. A weak element or thermal fuse. Poor vent airflow.

Rules

Ammonia smell, soot or abnormal heat: stop, ventilate and get everyone clear.

A temperature log with times (phone photo of a fridge thermometer) shows the customer and the warranty company a clear before and after.
